What would be a good way to check for an exhaust leak in my exhaust system. My exhaust back fires when I let off, the accelerator. Not, when I press on the gas. It sounds like loud popcorn popping type of backfire. So I wanted to check for small exhaust leaks along the exhaust. Any suggestions

Look for any black soot on pipe/s. If its a backfire on decel I would think timing or fuel is off some.
