I notice that MANY of the cars you see have these tire on them...mine included. Mine came with them, and I will replace them with the same..but out of curiousity...why do you think this particular tire is SO popular?

High quality radial tire, readily available from many convienent sources, comes in a 15 inch size while some high performnace tires don't, good value for reasonable price, looks sharp, and so many other cool cars have them and I want my car to look as cool as them.

Everything av68 said.

For me, the lettering is classic, not too large. I find most lettered tires have obnoxious looking lettering. Visually distracting. The BFG T/A is classic, like the firestone wide-o. For me, if I want lettered tires, none look better. The only tire that was ever close for me was the Goodyear Eagle ST, which is no longer made.

They are modern rubber, and come in a zillion sizes. They are not for your g-machine, but for the cruiser I don't know of a better hoop.

It's subliminal T & A ....get it. It's marketing genius on Goodrich's part.

Theyre the only tire I have/or will ever run thats not on a show car. Those get the Polyglas/Wide Oval/Red Lines.

Just to reiterate whats already been said here, theyre just a good street tire. Nothing for racing, of course. The white letter size and style are right on. Dont look cheesy like a lot do. One thing I cant stand is a nice car with "cheap" looking tires. Can get them in pretty much any size (275/50/15s are tough to get at times), and very reasonably priced. The GY Eagle S/Ts were the next best choice, but Ive always preferred the BFGs.

Theyve been around forever, and dont see them going away anytime soon. I guess a classic in their own right.

a little off topic but... will this wheel and tire size work?

69 BB with Stock ride height: 14X7 steel wheels with 245/60R14 BFG'S on all 4

WIll these rub any? should I be going with a smaller sized tire? 235/60 maybe?

Thanks in advance.... Josh

I am glad someone else mentioned the font to the lettering, because to be honest I think that is why I like them myself...but didn't want to sound stupid for saying that.

Perfect size, slant and font for a tire in my opinion...not too big or too small...etc.

I've been using them on muscle cars for over 20 years and never had one fail.
