Welcome to TC!!!

The answer to your question is "Yes" however, your best bet would be to use the Search function as this topic as been beat to DEATH. After that, if you have questions, post them.

I did this and went back to monos and here's why. Have you ever noticed that some camaros look like 4x4's? Mine was one of them so I have 1" drop blocks in the rear and it seems to me that when I went to multi leafes my lower shock mount interfered with the tires if I didn't use wheel spacers. Just something to think about. Now my curiosity is peaked, what's worng with monos unless you're cloning an SS? Is it the strength?

They are known to come unlaminated at about 450hp under power and if not mistaken, they even say so by mentioning a hp limit..

Not trying to hijack the thread, but am in the process of doing the same. I have a 67 with mono springs, and an 8.5 from a 73 Nova. Looking at the 4 and 5 leaf springs, but can anyone tell me why the big price difference?
I read the rate for the 4 leaf was about 125# where the 5 leaf was 99# Is this correct? Not looking for a pro touring car, but want to firm up the suspension some.

I've done that swap and replaced my monos with hotchkis lowering multi's it looks great and eliminated the wheel hop. The one thing about the swap is that the rear lower plates between mono and multi are different. The shocks mount differently. David Pozzi has great info regarding this and hopefully will join in on this one.

Yes, check the search function. I surfed through the same topic for a while and there is a ton of info. I just finished my swap last weekend and really happy with it so far. My monos were sagging and getting a tire rub, so the 5 leaf lifted it a couple of inches. Main thing on the swap ,as you'll read about, is convert to U-bolts and ditch the T-nuts.

A bunch of guys here including myself have used the multi leaf nova springs that JC whitney sells. They are direct replacement three leaf spring, that fit right in to a mono leaf perch. I had to do zero mods to get them in my car. The price was right and JCW runs offers on free shipping all the time.

Check out JCW's cheap '68 and up Nova 3-leaf mono replacements.

As well as their other '68 and up Nova h-d multi-leaf springs.

And I never worried about the lower shock mount plate deal b/c I just used my stock '67 mono one's and everything is fine! BUT you have to use '67 style lower attachment point shocks that use a through bolt vs the newer one's that mount to a stud b/c the stud mount hole is bigger than the through bolt mount hole if not mistaken.

And some multi's have a top bolt head and will require that you drill a hole in your rearend's welded on mounts, others like the JCW 3-leaf mono replacements use a flathead bolt and don't require drilling the top hole. This is b/c mono's are only located by a bottom "tit" vs the multi's located both places by the top bolt head and the bottom bolt's nut is all.

And you probably will have to VERY CAREFULLY trim the sides off the rubber/poly spring pads using a boxknife b/c all other springs are wider here then the double tappered stock mono's b/c NOBODY has re-popped the mono double tappered springs tapers!!

DON'T CUT H-LL OUTTA YOURSELF DOING THE TRIMMING!!!!!

Lastly, order a poly kit to fit what springs you buy, (i.e., mono replacements use a mono kit).. That is if you want to use a poly kit??

dawg, why do you say he needs different perches? Those 3 leaf will fit fine in a mono perch.

Now a 4 or 5 leaf in a mono perch is a whole nother story.
