Does anyone have a picture of the front seat belt retractors installed? I must be stupid because, for the life of me, I can't figure out how they're supposed to mount. :clonk:

They are marked L and R on the plastic cover near the anchor hole (L is drivers). They are curved to match the curve of the rocker covers. You can see the metal anchor of the belt from the interior side. Just bolt them on.

I did find the left and right markings and I see how they mount but when mounted, the belt doesn't seem to come out of the retractor on the right angle. I hope I am explaining this right. If anyone has a picture it would be a big help. Thanks!

Is there a difference between standard and deluxe retractors? The ones that I have do not look anyting like that picture.

Your seatbelt retractors should look like this. The only difference between standard and deluxe is in the chrome buckle.

Just to clarify, deluxe retractors are the same except for the chrome tongue. Small hole=deluxe, large rectangular hole=standard. All 3 years used 3 panel webbing for deluxe. 67 & 68 standard used 4 panel, but 69 standard went to 3 panel for both.

AHH, those are A-bodys (chevelle, etc) only. They will NOT fit F-bodys (camaros). I see a lot of ebay ads saying they fit both chevelles and camaros.....NOT!

Time to hit ebay again and get the correct camaro retractors (shaped like an "S").

Hope you did not spend too much or can return them.

Fortunately I got them in the car when I bought it, so nothing lost. I could swear that they were installed when I started the rebuild but who knows (it was some time ago).

One more quick question... The metal buckles are for the deluxe interior and the plastic are standard, right?

Correct. covers are metal for deluxe and plastic for standard. There is more to it than that to spot differences between the years and other GM models.
