does anybody know when the switch to yellow light radios from blue light radios was. i have a 7a car and want to put the correct light radio in it, although with the outrageous prices, i mught just go with a am/fm unit.

While not 100% certain, I believe the yellow lights came into use the first week of August (08A) the same time when the 70 model year started (69 1/2 for the Camaro and Firebird). They reset the BDY number on the cowl tag at the same time, I am assuming to indicate which cars were to comply with federal standards for 1970 model year.

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.
