I have grotto blue 68 with blue interior. Was only one color blue interior available in 68? If so what is the color called? Code or codes? Any pictures of absolute correct color. Mine has been messed with and I want to find the right color

Thanks

Blue, Tag number is 719 for Custom interior, meaning door panels with molded armrests, 717 for Standard interior, meaning flat door panels with attached armrests.

Sixty-eight we had years ago, had a Custom blue interior. All of it blue, except for the wood grained console. Everything was blue.

mine is a 717, but it seems to have some different color blues in it. Are all blues the same from 67-69 or is each year a different color blue inside? I think 67 Pace cars hada special color blue?

Thanks

I believe all the blues were the same except as you noted, the Pace Car is different. Could be the age of the different items showing the multiple shades.

The next you get ambitious, pull out the rear seat bottom and look at the rear side panel for the real blue color. This area covered by the seat bottom will have been covered from the sun and would show the true color, perhaps.

Check the tag for color, oh, I guess you did.........

My 68 is supposed to be the same combo D-1 and 717. The blue int is called medium blue, and I think it may be a 68 only color. It's sort of a silvery blue, and it does seem to age differently on different materials, vinyl vs. plastic. vs.metal. If I was buying a new int, I'd change to a different color.

I don't have a good picture of mine handy, and it wouldn't help because it is all different shades like you said. I will look around and see if I can find you a good picture of this interior redone.

You should have seen the red interior in my 68. I firmly believe that nothing matched from the factory! :)

here are some pictures of my blue parts. Notice the wheel is a dark blue and the columb is light  . I have looked and the columb has never been painted but the steering wheel has been. Is there another color blue that this wheel would go into. The console has been painted and the arm rest base has what seems to be a paint on it also. If I could get all the plastic to look like the base I think I would be happy. The seat colors from old to new match pretty well, no perfect but not bad. What do any of you think about color matches? Can I get a paint that matchs the arm rest base? Any pictures out there of blue interiors? Please post them or e-mail them to me.

Since I'm here at work with a better PC, I see the pics and I would say the pass seat, door panel, and carpet are the correct blue.

The console appears to be repainted and the wheel shows being re-dyed.

The drvr seat is a different blue as is the dash pad and the glove box door doesn't match the dash paint.

The dash pad, door panel armrest pad and pass seat cover are repro parts (BTW the dash pad fit sucks!). The top pictures is of the repro cover next to s very dirty original cover. The arm rest base is the color I think I need the console, but I am not sure. The steering wheel has been painted a light color and it's coming off. The dark blue is pretty dark, but I am told this wheel has never been changed and the wheel is in very nice shape. I am wondering if the rest of the plastic is supposed to be this color? The car was built in Aug of 68 and I am wondering if it might have some 68 colors and 69 colors in it. Anyone know if the colors changed in 69 to what my steering wheel color is?

The console has been painted, but I don't know if it was paint used that repro places sell to match up blue interiors? If so I don't want that color on anything else!

ANYONE HAVE PICTURES PLEASE OF ORGINAL STUFF?????

Joe
