There is such a thing as heater delete. The holes are still there, they are just covered with plates. One plate on the fan hole and one over the heater core hole. Plus a plate inside where the control is.

I know alot of cars that went to Hawaii got it.:D

I would say it is somewhat uncommon, but I couldnt tell how many were produced.
I dont think it makes the car more valuable, just more unique.

It is actually extremely rare and the parts for the heater delete option bring big bucks at the swap meets or on ebay. Most heater delete or radio delete cars were ordered as COPO cars and used as drag racing cars. When running the quarter mile you really don't need the heater or the radio.

Maybe Jeff will pipe up on this but it's my understanding that it was very common for Hawiian Island bound cars to be heater delete back in the day...

Scott mentions the COPO thing and that is what makes the plates expensive. Someone restoring a high dollar car is gonna pay big if the part is needed... Then there is the clone builder wanting to duplicate the real thing who will throw a lot of cash at correct parts too. 30 years down the road and there are fewer plates than persons wanting them so the price goes up...

Buy the car and sell the heater delete stuff on ebay to recoup some of the purchase expense.

It was a hearter delete car alright, One of the previous owners deleted the heter core and most of the duct work, Not Chevrolet. 10 hr drive wasted car was gutted and fairly trashed, not woth the asking price. Still on the look..

1967 was the last year for the factory heater delete option (C48); Federal MVSS regulations required a windshield defroster on all cars for 1968, so all '68-up cars either had the standard heater or optional A/C. :)
