Help....My 89 2.8 V6 Camaro keeps coming up with code 32. Before it did come up with both codes 32 & 34. So far I've replaced the fuel filter, MAF Sensor, EGR Valve, Cap & Rotor. I've checked the air filters and they're clean. She doesn't want to pass DEQ. When I start her, she runs pretty rough and attempts to die on me. Does anyone have any suggestions?

i allso have a 89 2.8 and had the same problem as you are explaneing.i found my problem to the most of it was the map sensor located on the far front drivers side of air cleaner.a 2 wire plug in and screws in to the air houseing . i was geting the 32 code. replaced it and the code so far is gone.think the unit cost me 19.00 at a local parts store.allso found that after changeing the unit and clearing codes.i had to drive the auto atlest 45 mph for a distance of 3 miles so things would reset them selves.map sensors as i belive run from a voltage of 1.4 to 1.7 at idel position.hope this helps. im no expert but hope it helps :)

Thank you....at this point I'll try just about anything. I just changed the cat yesterday and still is coming up with code 32. The sad thing is that she does this every once in a while. She's my difficult child.

Not to stick my nose in here, but that is the MAT sensor (Manifold Air Temp)

Actually, you're correct. 89 model do not have a MAP Sensor. But also the MAT Sensor should have codes 23 or 25 if there is a failure. Still at a loss.......

i know chev garage told me and showed me that in my 89 camro rs 2.8 that in the breather tube the drivers side was a what they called map sencor.which they explaned that detects the air flow and air densaty ( sorry spelling lol ). and in return it realy helps to determain the manfold volume.as it the volume is what i am told is to be the same as displacement of clynders.lol i dont know is just what i was told lol but now as i find i can unpug the mass air flow sencor and the motor smooths out and can plug it back in and it stayts smooth. but if shut off again its back to the gassyness again and wanting to blubber and die, thanks alot all you been lots a help on this. :)

Not sure what code 32 is...is it MAF flow low? Check the connector pins to see that they are tight and clean. They have a habbit of getting sprung over the years and don't make a good connection. With a pick-probe you can kind of sqeeze them back together again. A small piece of sandpaper will brighten them up. A good doping with dielectric grease will help prevent corrosion in the future.
When this happened to my friends 87 TPI motor, we found the MAF voltage was always at 5 volts even after a new MAF. That's what got us looking at the connector.

Isn't "32" for the EGR
Think that was the code & problem on daughters car a couple years ago.
Got several codes - 32 & 34 ring a bell - that was something to do with the bad EGR causing the vacuum signal and idle speed to not be in spec.

unplug the vacuum line from the egr and see if it runs better.
