I'll bite!! I said it in the the "where are you from post" but I will say it again. My screen name is a nick name I got in highschool. My last name is Kaus and I have a twin brother, nobody could tell us apart so they just called us both "kausboy"!
All the good camaro names have already been used and I didn't want to use one of the names that I use on the other forums I participate in, SO there you have it!! Simple enough.

LOL!! I thought the natives called Tarzan - Tarzan, http://www.camaros.net/forum/wink.gif There's an old joke about a rookie golfer who goes over to Africa for a tournment. His caddy kept saying "ummgawa, ummgawa" after he tee's off. Not wanting to be rude he would just smile. When he catches up with a more seasoned veteran in the club house he asks what ummgawa means and the vet replies "feels good". After a few drinks the rookie finds himself in the private company of a very attractive gal. They seem to over come any communications problems as the woman speaks a little english. Shortly they become intimate and the rookie thinking he would complement her in her own language starts wispering "ummgawa, ummgawa" to her. She looks puzzled and asks what do you mean wrong hole! http://www.camaros.net/forum/eek.gif

Sorry off topic. DjD would be my initials. I don't have a middle initial on my birth records but somewhere in life started using James as a middle name. Since it isn't part of my name given at birth I never capitolize the initial.

Mine is the name of a character from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie (the looney guy with the metal plate in his head-TCM part 2, same character as the crazy hitchiker in TCM part 1 that was picked up by the van full of kids). If you have never seen these movies I recommend both of them highly (TCM and TCM2), but then I love horror movies!

Funny story, in college I dressed up one halloween as this character, a buddy dressed up as leatherface (complete with working <chainless> chainsaw)and another buddy as their father the cook. The name kind of stuck with me after that... http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif

At the time I joined the forumn I had 3 Camaros (69, 70 and 91). I have owned 6 of them 3 being 70's (67, 69, 3 x 70, 91). Friends started saying "you are just the Camaro man". Since the 70 is my favorite (that I own) I just put camaro + man + 7d (70)= camaroman7d. Funny cause I never really wanted a Camaro, now they just follow me home.

Geezer
Jan 27th, 03, 04:56 PM
The name “Geezer” is a carryover from a few years ago. Sometime in the mid 90’s a guy in college started an IRC chat room on talk city called “Gen Auto”. A few regulars and myself spent an enormous amount of time there as moderators helping people with their problems. I happened to be the oldest and wisest of the bunch. We made the site popular enough that talk city allowed it to be kept up 24/7. After a couple of years it was the most popular chat room they had and there were rumors that we could possibly be paid for moderating at least when there were celebrity guest on during the weekends. I was back in college at the time myself and missed a couple of weeks during finals. The next time I came on, I automatically logged on as moderator and was immediately kicked off before I knew what happened. I logged on again and didn’t know who the rude moderator was and we had a few words. I then contacted a talk city rep. And was advised the chat room had been bought out by them and I was not to come back as a moderator. That’s when I found this place and have been hanging around ever since. Oh and btw I just looked up TC and the chat room is gone! Imagine that. Although I’m not the oldest Geezer on this board I’m not far behind but at least I got hair! An I thought “Chop Top referred to your hair cut! http://www.camaros.net/forum/eek.gif LOL One thing I’ve learned about volunteers, whether it be on line or working fire/rescue is that some of the most dedicated people aren’t receiving a paycheck or stock options for their time. http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif

I spell it Teetoe because i was playing Jedi Knight online a few years back and thought i'd give it the Star Wars spelling.

Before my passion for Camaros, I had a passion for Kawasaki superbikes, KZ900's and KZ1000's from the mid 70's to mid 80's, restored at least 2 dozen, had to sell every last one of them when I got married. In return, I was "allowed" to purchase and restore a 69 Camaro. Seems the wife thinks my Camaro is "safer" than my riding a motorcycle. I like to imatate an automatic by as fast as possible putting the clutch down to the floor with my foot sliding off the clutch at the very moment it hits bottom. You had better be snatching quick doing that trick. Although this SS350 and it's .513 lift and 306 duration likes to give things away with the tires chirping going into forth. With that duration I think the guy drag racing it had nitrous on it. Just doesn't make sense to me any other way. Would I put new Dart 230cc heads on it? Yup. This aint california and never will be.

Back around 1968 a friend moved in 2 houses down from me. He had a 65 Chevy II that he raced called the Run-A-Way. A few years later he built an A/Fuel dragster called Flower Power. Out of respect and admiration for my mentor I chose run-a-way-69. 69 for the year of my Camaro. I didn't choose Flower-Power-69 as I always thought that name was a little corny. George

Well, within 5 years of buying, selling and collecting I amassed a very large and expensive collection. I recently sold my entire Hotwheels collection for more than enough $$ to buy my completed dream car. A '69 Z28 Camaro just exactly like the one I had when I was 17. Boodlefoof is actually a carry over from my early childhood. When I was a little kid, my parents would make me laugh by blowing on my stomach and making that "plbbbbbbbb" sound... most people call it a "motorboat" from what I've heard. Anyway, for some reason I dubbed this to be a "boodlefoof." My parents started using the word, and now it has stuck.

Oh yeah... forgot to add a pic. You can find one on my website. Check out the section about me. www.geocities.com/boodlefoof (http://www.geocities.com/boodlefoof)

My number is 00. This year I added the letter M after the number. It's the first initial of my last name. The wife wants to put a Z in front of the number now.

The track promoters got a kick out of the fact that I registered "z00m" as my number! It was my wife's idea!!

Codi
Jan 28th, 03, 06:07 AM
I got tired of trying to tell people how to spell and then pronounce my last name. 35 years ago, I was tagged with "CODI". This way, my buddies didn't have to spell my last name or pronounce it all the time. I ran with a crowd known as " Codi, Wad, Keetus, Earl Schibe, Kink, Nose, and Crimp". OH! What is the last name? CODIspoti. It is pronounced just as it is spelled. Long o, short i, long o, short i.

Back before kids I SCCA road raced a G-production Triumph Spitfire. Number 44. Still got the car and the wife and the kids and the house. Hence no money to race. I never had more spending money then when I was living at home, going to school, and working part time. Now that I have a career and a high paying job (ya right) I've got no money.

Well, mine is a hodgepodge (is that a word?) of stuff. Sudo is a name I got in College from my buddies. My initals are SDO and when we would play video golf that is what I put in for initials for high scores. It just so happened that song Sue Sue Sudio from Phil Collins was popular and I got tagged for life. 1A is the number of a dirt Late model car driver I know and 67ss350 is the car. Whew, never realized I was so complicated, haha

Well 15 years ago a girl I was seeing slipped in the shower and herniated a disc the night after a fling with me and she called the paramedics. The next day after I swung by the local Rexall and picked up a wheelchair to bring her home from the hospital, my best friend saw the wheelchair in my car and asked me what it was for. This coupled with a complaint of a past petite girlfriend (I weighed a buff ~250# then) that I was a little bit too rough on her in a romantic way sort of got me stuck with the BC nickname. The gal with the bad back got a new boyfriend that coincidentally worked with my best friend. They never got married, but this guy did start calling me bonecrusher when I'd stop by to see my best friend at work. My best friend assures me that this other guy never knew I dated that gal before him and didn't know how I got the nickname. The 67 convertible is the only girlfriend that I'm a little too rough with now.

If they called the Dutch Hollanders, or Hollandites, or the Hollandese, it would sound too much like hollandaise which is just a sauce you put on your sandwich --- who would like that? LOL

Don't feel bad, they call people from Mchigan Michiganders, which sounds like some kind of a duck to me . . .

3SuperSports= my wife and I own three SS Camaros. I tried to just get "SuperSports" the first time I registered on a message board and I started trying other variations, this is the one that wasn't taken. I've used the same one ever since. Every time I sell or trade a car, people ask if I'll have to change it. So far, no problem. I sold my '97 SS, but picked up another '69 SS-350 ;)

Go69
Jan 29th, 03, 01:52 PM
Mine is simple. In high school, all my buddies used to joke about all the women that I would bed.. They would say that I "wined 'em, dined 'em and then 69'ed em" They then shortened that to "Go69" which was a poor attempt at being subtle as they would call me this in front of the girls..

So, the name went on a custom plate on the front of my very first '69 Camaro. That car is long gone-along with the plate-but I carry the honor of the name on to this very day..

I hope my daughter never asks me this question.. I will have to come up with a better answer..

ok ok Click is the noise your 30-30 Winchester rifle makes when that huge 12 point buck stops behind a tree while I am standing behind another tree trying to get a shot.
I had recently gotten down from my tree stand and had removed the shell from the chamber, safety first right?, and forgot to put the bullet back. I leaned around the tree to pop the biggest buck Ive ever seen but the gun just went 'click'.
My buddies never let me forget that either. Isnt that sad? http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

Jim,
That story is too funny. A few years back a buddy of mine had a big buck run up to him and he pulled the trigger and "click" The buck took off and my father who was standing on the other side of the field ended up shooting the buck. When my dad hung the deer on the wall he made a nameplate for underneath that said "click". That deer has since and will forever be known to our whole gang as Click. Back when i first saw your name i thought of that deer and never in a million years would have guessed how close the stories really were. Good stuff.

I have not heard that easily in over 17 years...I take my young son to the local famous sandwich shop in Burlingame CA (Sam's Sandwiches) a few weeks back and all of the sudden I hear.."It's Chevy Thunder time "... my son never knew where it came form until then.. it was an old buddy who used to roll a 55 Bel Air.....nothing like seeing an old buddy that you used to cruise with when you were a kid.. it's right up there with an old girlfriend who still looks good and is single ...well , close anyway :)

Years ago in a simpler more dangerous time, the hotrodders in my area didn't say "Wanna race?" They said, "Wanna run?" If they were serious they said, "Wanna run for bucks or pinks?" When I bought my Camaro back in '86 I decided to get a vanity plate. 1 2RUN (Want to run?) Even though I've never raced it on the track or the street, I still like the attitude it conveys. Of course I do occasionally get asked, "Does it really run twelves." :D

Well, mine is a carryover from other sites. I like continuity. If we had avatars, it would make more sense.

Bonzo=Tribute to the Late John 'Bonzo' Bonham, drummer of Led Zeppelin.
Hansen=Davey Hansen, from Davey & Goliath cartoons.

I found this pic, added the symbol to the drum & my pal animated it. So there you go.

Ummgawa...What the natives called tarzan in the movies.

greetings all, new member old owner 67' 350 SS. one owner, I have a question for the group, how/where do you have your Camaros appraised ? My insurance company here in Marblehead tells me that my carrier, Plymouth Rock requires an apprasial. I have run antique plates for over 10 years and payed a small premium for my coverage. Anyone know a reptubable appraiser in the Boston area ? thanks

camaro man
Oct 12th, 05, 03:11 AM
My youngest daughter thought my Camaro was the best thing ever when I bought it in April of 2002. She was just 5 years old then. I took her and sometimes the rest of the family out for many drives the first summer. Fall of 2003 I disassembled the car. I got it back on the road in March of 2004. I spent so much time in the garage that first year that my daughter started to associated me and the car as one. Whenever she wanted me she would yell out into the garage "Hey Camaro man". She still does it today and still thinks my Camaro is the best. It's nice to have family members that support you with your projects.

8 Ball Racing

8 Ball is what my Dad called me as I grew up when I thought of or did somthing really stupid. Racing came from my R/C club, needed a screen name for that fourm too.

The R/C racing filled the jones for cars while my kids were young. It also was something that the kids could do and enjoy with dad. It certainly keeps away the dad look I am fixing the fender (with the ball peen hammer) for you............tap tap knock knock whammmmmmmm

Sure wish I had spent all that time on the real cars but the R/C racing was fun and alot like the real deal. Thanks to Ray Murry and all the guys and gals at SJCCR for helping me threw it!

Matt Hosford I mean 8 Ball

Mine is a Lakota Sioux word. I used to go to pow wows and met some Lakota people. I learned a few words and tokala is easy to spell and pronounce. There is a society, kind of like a fraternity, in Lakota culture called the Tokala. The literal translation of the word is "kit fox".

82Vettrin
Apr 10th, 06, 04:22 PM
welll,, I'm a 22.5~year retired military veteran, that's part of where the "Vettrin" portion comes from; 8 years or so ago I got back-into cars seriously, buying a 1982 Corvette, that's where the "82 Vett" part comes from..
I've participated on a Corvette forum for several years. when I bought the Camaro last June, then stumbled onto this site and joined, it was less-complicated for my lame brain to recall just one screen name: hence, "82Vettrin" :) (seemed like every catchy Camaro screen name I could conjur up was taken)
yes, I use forums religiously, both as a giver and a taker... I figure if someone benefits from my mistakes, and on that rare occasion, my success,, we all win
y'all have a great site.. thanks T.C.

A five year old thread...is that a record?:D

camsdad
Apr 10th, 06, 09:49 PM
I'll add mine to the list here.

Before my wife and I had kids we bought the 69 Camaro back in 1986.
When it became time to start a family (It was Sooooooooooo much fun practicing) seems like a looong time ago. Well 2 kids now. And memories. Ohhhhh the memories. LOL.
Anyways back to the point.
My wife was adamant about having boys. No girls what so ever. She claims they are too much trouble.
Made me promise to produce boys only. Ugh!!!! Ok honey :clonk:
So when my first son was born we named him Cameron. We derived it from Camaro, camshaft, power, strong, performance ext... We had other names but when I saw him and picked him up for the first time there was no other name that came to mind. So it stuck.
He go's by Cam unless he gets in trouble. Then it’s Cameron Jacob. A typical 6yr old boy. Yep, He does push his luck to the limit at times. Most of his class mates call him Cam. Especially the girls. They all love him.
Now we have a 2nd son Connor Joshua 3yrs old.
We named my wife’s car 2cjs4us.
So that is where my screen name (Camsdad) comes from.

Kurt :beers:

My daughter is a heart transplant (transplanted in 1990 at the age of 5 1/2 months)...and when I thought of this name...AOL had a set number of characters that you could have...thus the abbreviated version of 'transplant dad' :)

Thus the statement below (look down :))

buenymayor
Sep 11th, 06, 05:15 PM
In 1990, I bought a farm bordering this little town (4 blocks total) called Buena Vista. It has always had a reputation of being rough. Generally speaking, there isn't a lot of motivation among it's citizens (I could go deeper here). Anyhow, growing up it was always refered to as "Bueny". After I bought the farm (literally), all my friends started calling me the mayor. Hence, buenymayor.
