Codi May 5th, 05, 09:42 AM Six o'clock. Dots should line up (or as close as it will go). 98chev May 5th, 05, 10:01 AM will it be on the compression stroke so i can drop in my distributor and it should fire when i finish everything else. speedfreak2 May 5th, 05, 10:42 AM will it be on the compression stroke so i can drop in my distributor and it should fire when i finish everything else. No, it will be 180* out. Just do this: When installing the chain put the dots at 6:00 and 12:00 and line them up. Next install the timing cover and forget about it. Adjust the valve lash and after your done turn the engine over until the intake valve on number one cylinder closes and then line the damper up with timing tab and that will be on the compression stroke. Then drop in the dist and your set. phel69 May 5th, 05, 03:58 PM If you have the dots at 12:00 on the crank and 6:00 on the cam then just put the distributor in pointing at #6 firing position. When you are 180* out on #1 you are on compression for #6. |
