I saw this SS/RS on Ebay today. Look at the trim tag, it says Deepwater blue with a red interior. It sure is a strange combination.....

That's an all American Camaro (Red, White and blue) :)

That poor car. Sat outside for 20 years. Shame... :(

not sure what he thinks it is worth, reserve not met at over $2500, he states:

"Again this car is very rusty, and is unrestorable, due to the sub frame and floors have rusted away"

His word is
unrestorable

You could easily part that car out for 5K. Just the RS equipment, 12 bolt and AM/FM radio will get you close.

Can anyone tell me what the hole in the trim tag below the 4P means?

Thanks,

Victor

Victor, there has been little speculation as to why there are holes in the trim tag. My car has a hole on it too. Maybe there were holes in the metal sheet when it was manufactured. 67 cars are the only ones I have seen with the holes too. To answer your question, not really sure.

Can anyone tell me what the hole in the trim tag below the 4P means?

Thanks,

Victor

Scot,

I have always been curious about that hole because I have seen them on several 67's, and they always seem to be in the same place. Most of the ones I have seen are just underneath the 4P but I think that is only because I was looking at a lot of SS or L30/M20 cars before I bought mine. Ibelieve I have seen them on non 4P cars also. My car also has the hole just below the 4P. What is your build date? I wonder if CRG has the holes in their database?, what percentage of cars have them, and when they started showing up? I think I spoke to Daniel about this before, but cant find his reply.

Thanks,

Victor

Well, Victor here is a pic of mine. It is in the exact same place as the one above. By the way my car is an 09C build, and the one above is a 10B build. My car is also an SS/RS, but didn't have the 4P code coz it was an early car. Maybe that hole on there was a jig hole when the trim tags were made? Just a guess of mine. Post a pic of your tag here so I can see it and compare. What is the build date of your car? If you look at this thread of another 67 car, it has the same hole in the same place. 09C LOS build car. http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=57199

Wow! Scot that car is going to be awesome when your done....Gotta love all of those options. Below is my LOS 09C cowl tag, the hole must have something to do with the RS/SS....Off the subject, Does the 103 after the LOS on my tag mean it was the 103rd convertble built in Van Nuys? Scot, your vin number is close to you build number, is there a connection?

In the case of a car with a 12667 style code the 103 means it's the 103rd convertible with a deluxe interior built at LA for the 67 model year.

HoosierDaddy, the VIN and tag are just low numbers and don't have anything to do with each other from what I read on Daniels link. Yes, my car has alot of options. That is one reason I bought it and decided to rescue the body. As you can tell from my pictures in my web files. Daniel or Mark didn't give any insight on what Victor and I were talking about. How bout it guys? You have any insight on those holes?

All I will say about the hole in the cowl tag is that it has nothing to do with the options on the car.

I'm kinda suprised he's selling it as unrestorable. These days, every thing is restorable if it's rare enough. A donor stub and a new full pan and you're on your way. I bet that red/white/blue color combo all refinished would look pretty good today!
