I have always wondered what really caused the exhaust to "slobber" out of the exhaust whenever it is warming up on idle, this With choke on and off.
I have always thought it was maybe too rich. I have my 350 idling at about 700 RPMs, timing at 6 - 8 degrees BTDC, and I have carburetor setting at the best vacuum, 18 to 20. (carburetor is Edelbrock 1401 Q-Jet)

Mine seems to slobber more than most.

I guess it doesn't hurt any thing but the exhaust tips.

I do not know if it can really be eliminated or not.

Any opinions?

The natural byproducts of cumbustion are h2o and co2. Guess you're car runs really good?

This is also common with the new injected motors. My everyday driver! (http://www.fidnet.com/~m26/1555black3.jpg) will slobber out the tail pipe in the winter when I start it and let it sit to warm up. If I let it run long enough it will fill the pipes with water and when I take off it will leave a trail of water behind it.

A lot of manufacturers will drill small holes in the exhaust system so it will drain out. I guess Ford doesn't do that with the Crown Vic's.

Mine drips like a leaky faucet. As long as you aren't losing coolant, you should have no worries.
