1) The output carrier has blueing-like marks on the outside perimeter. What is the significance and importance of this? It looks like overheating, but no clutches or band bear on this part. Was it fabricated this way?

2) The Hughes th400 race rebuild kit contains 5 steels and 5 clutches for the forward clutch hub. None of the 5 steels is waved. The transmission books show that the first plate installed should be a waved plate, then friction, steel; plate, friction plate ...... ending in a friction plate with the pressure plate on top. This give a total of 4 steels, 1 waved plate and 5 clutches.

Is the original waved plate supposed to be reused, or are should the flat steel included in the kit be installed where the waved late originally went?

3) The steel plates have variations in the lugs, and each has a lug marked with a v or U notch. They have two flats cut across each as well. Is there any special orientation for these features? They can fit any orientation. What is the purpose of these unusual markings and unsymetrical details for the steels?

4) The book shows in ID torrington bearing race, the torrington bearing and another ID torrington race adjacent to the sun gear. What is the part number for this part?

5) The TCI rear case torrington (upgrade option) floats around 1/4" or so on the output shaft. Is this acceptable or have I been sent the wrong part? The original thrust washer was located with four legs and the selectable washer was retained with three legs. The TCI torrington isn't retained by anything except the shaft and their selectable spacer washer floats around without locating arms next to the torrington.
