I am trying to get the fender pinstripes applied on my Pace Car and I want to make sure they are right. I am sure this topic has been covered before, but I can't seem to dig it up.
Does anyone have the proper dimensions for these pinstripes? Also was there supposed to be a pinstripe on the rear quarters as well? Finally, does anyone have some good photos of the properly applied pinstripes?
I am not applying the door decals.

I'm still struggling with this - where can I find a stencil for these? I have dug through Ricks and Classic, but no luck. Or were they tape and that is the reason I couldn't find them?

They were hand painted. My dad and I had restored an original paint PC years ago. The originals definately werent pretty, but definately done by hand.
We needed original, so tape wasnt an option. Had trouble finding a pinstriper that could pull a straight line. But then again, I'm in AR. A guy out of Tx, i believe, came up to do some work at the BMW or MB dealership here in LR for a day or so. Last name was Brodie (sp?) i believe. Gave him the assembly manual dimensions, as above, and he was able to knock it out in just a few minutes.
They are on both the front and back fenders. Was also an option on non-PCs. If the door decals were applied, they were left off of the doors.

Pace car decals were never installed at the factory they were done at the dealership if the buyer wanted them on the car. The dealers were supposed to buff the D96 stripes off of the doors prior to installing the decals. Of course if your striping the car and then applying a clear coat over them you won't be able to do it that way.
The factory had a metal (assuming maybe plastic) template for applying the D96 stripes that was placed on the fender and the stripes were brush painted over the template.

No door decals here - bit too gawdy for me !
Does anyone repro the template that the factory used?
