How crucial is the placement of the two brackets that mount on top of each shock tower? I am planning the install of the trunk pan this weekend, and I already welded the brackets on. I used the two bolt holes as guides, but the hole that the shock goes through does not line up exactly with the hole in the trunk pan. In other words, is it more important that the two bolt holes line up, or the big holes line up where the shock goes through?

Craig, what 2 brackets are you talking about?

They sit right on top of where the shock bolts to the tower. It has one big hole in the middle and two bolts holes, one on each side. I think it is called the shock mount plate. Not sure.

There should be two peices for each side. The one inside is curved up on the edges and the one for under the wheelhouse is flat and thicker. They are supposed to sandwich the sheetmetal to add strength for the shock mounting.

I think I'm in good shape with the brackets. I don't have the lower part, but the top part came with the new full trunk pan. Once I have the lower part, I will screw it into the top part and I should be good to go.
