This has been bugging me for a while. Is there supposed to be a pronounced gap where the tail panel and the quarters come together on either side of the trunk? Should this area be filled with putty and smoothed so the tailpiece and the quaters all look like one piece? I hope this is clear, but if I am not being clear, I'll try to explain it better. Mine are factory stock, but I want to make sure I get it right when I do the body work.

The panels are spot welded together and thos produces a gap of about 1/8 to 1/4 inch. This gap is usually filled with seam sealer and smoothed to give it a small indented look.

There should not be hardly any gap. The panels should fit snug against one another then the seam sealer fills the small crack for moisture. Craig, I thing I may have a couple of pictures in my web files. Look there, it should be under quarter replacement or roof replacement. If not, I can email you some coz they are on my hard drive at home. I will be off work at 10:30 so I would have to email them after that.

Thank you Codi, that is what I was looking for. The gap in mine is very small, and I just wanted to know if I should fill it and then take out just a little, and you confirmed that for me. Should I use seam sealer or body filler?
