124379N540593 ?

Didn't get the trim tag info, but if I get the car, I'll post it here

Seems to be an RS/Z.

here's what I confirmed....

One fuel line
Brake block on subframe
Power disc brakes
12 bolt
large bumper guards
reinforcement plate on frame rail
rs taillights (cut-outs seem original)
rs wiper motor
rs hole in firewall
4spd speedo cable exit
4sp pedals (with disc brake emblem)
no AC
small block heater box
X3 on seat bulk head
RS front fenderwells
washer bottle mounted on pass fenderwell
....

please let me know if anyone has data on this car, thanks!

Built 11C of 68, I dont have it. This car is before X codes. The X3 on the bulkhead is a question. Wasnt that in the later cars after the X codes already came out?

Sounds pretty good, although I dont know about the X3 crayon deal on early cars ( my 03E has it ).

Given how crazy ($$$) this stuff has gotten, I would consider getting Jerry MaC to have a look to protect your investment.

Regardless, good luck with it.

I think I remember reading about several examples of the the X codes being on the bulkhead before they were on the cowl tag.
Is the RS wiper motor you mentioned the "605" wiper motor with the solenoid attached?
Also check the pitman arm and make sure it's 5 3/4" center to center. I think all Z's had this, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Doug,

Yes, its a 605 with the solenoid.

Hawaii,

Thanks for the photo. I was pretty sure the crayon marks were used before the trim tag was coded. I think they (crayon marks) were still used even after they started using the codes on the tags.

The X codes were written on the back seat structure before they ever showed up on the cowl tag .

If ther were writting X2 on it why the need to put X22 on the body tag?????

Why not just X2??
