In the instructions for installation of their aluminum body mounts, Competition Enfineering recommends not installing the solid mounts on the rad support for street driving. The reason is that the radiator core may be damaged from the vibrations? They seem to suggest that the rubber mounts be left in place.

Does anyone have any experience or comments on this?

I'm running the CE mounts on my '68.

I've got them at all points... including the radiator support. No problems here.

I also didn't reuse any rubber. Just put the aluminum piece between the frame and body and tighten down the bolts. Voila!

I've got a writeup of the install on my webpage.
