Hello!
My 69' Camaro is equippted with a mono leaf spring system. Now I want to install the hotchkis multi leafs. I have already a Nova axle for multi leaf but no brackets at all. For the U-bolts I will bend them. But I need the shock plates with the shocks on the same side. It's very expensive to buy this in Germany, so my question is if that ones from a 78' Camaro will fit ? Or any other idea?
I want to do some mini tubbing=> Any pictures and/or a short description?
Thanks for any help!

Your mono leaf plates will be fine!!
And to save you a hassle, you can get by with just one "U-bolt" per side and use the stock "T-bolts" for the other side b/c one "U-bolt" per side will do fine to hold your rearend if the little bolts ever let go.
And now would be a good time to add a couple of small plates to each rearend mount. One on the front tilted up and the other matching in the back location. This helps to strengthen the top mounts fore and aft.
I figure somebody has posted a pic. of this modification somewhere here at sometime if you want to take the time to look.. Say about 1-1/2" wide x 3" long x 1/8", maybe 3/16", thick is all........................ They kinda lay between the mounts bends and up to the housing tube..

Could you please elaborate on this? I am getting ready to put mine back together with new Hotchkis/Bilstein setup but I dont understand what you are saying or what this would accomplish, forgive me I am a newbie to old cars, but I am willing to make adjustments if theyll be advantagous.

OK, I will try to explain it better..
roll a 1.5" wide x 1/8" thick "U" so that it can go all the way around your rearend tube and touch the top plate at each leg, then just weld it to the tube below its centerline top mount and then by bending out the bottoms a bit, you get a good weld to each side of the top mount lips on each side. Then just cut off the "U" above the centerline of your tube and you basically have this type of reinforcement done.
