With the body and custom color paint job one month old, some idiot in a one ton Ferd backs over the front of the 93 Z and causes $3,600.00 in damage. Took out the left fender, the front bumper cover, broke the SS hood, shifted the front structure to the right and rear so both doors rub and scratched the paint off. The guy looks at it and says "You should be able to get that fixed for under $1,000.00" I just laughed at him and said it would be at least $3,000.00. I was right. Some of the damage wasn't really evident until you popped the hood. It sprung back to normal position. When you put it back down it won't close because the front end is moved to the right. I was just sick last night.

Sorry for your loss! Only 3,000 I want the name of your body man. That money wouldnt touch a paint job here.

The paint job is about a month and a half old. I know the body and paint man (Xtreme Body & Paint, Jefferson City, MO). He allowed me to do the disassembly and reassembly and do alot of the grunt work (scuffing, cleaning etc...) There was no body work to be done. That saved me a bundle. The job still cost me $4,000.00. This time they will only have to paint the front clip and they may have to blend in the doors and mirrors. He said he kept a record of the mixing weight of the paint so matching the paint isn't going to be a problem. the other guys insurance company might balk at me wanting to take it to only one shop but no one else has the color mix so they would have to paint the entire car. So, their estimate would be even higher. You can see what it did look like by clicking on my link at the bottom.

You obviously have more self control then I do. I may have done several thousand dollers damage to the idiot driving the blue oval!!!!

It would't have fixed the damage, but i would have felt better! LOL!

Jim, can I call you at your office tomorrow? I feel your pain too. They have just started the repairs to my car this week and I have no clue as to when they will be finished. The place fixing it is very cooperative and let me come in anytime I want to check it out and take pictures. They are also going to do some digital pics for me and save them to a disc.
