I have a 69 with factory AC. Whatever is behind the heater/AC controls that powers up the compressor doesn't work. Someone rigged a toggle switch so to turn on the ac you have to flip the toggle switch. Sooooo.....

I don't have my assembly manual handy can anyone break down what switch/part powers up the compressor? I'm assuming that some kind of switch mounts to the back of the controls so when you slide it to cool it powers the compressor?

Hey Paul, yes there is a switch inside the control levers area that activates when you slide the arm to 'a/c' it activates the compressor. Here is a pic of it. I see it in most the resto catalogs. You need a/c down there? :waving:

Thanks Jim! Well, that's just how I imagined that it would look. Glad to hear that the switch is available. I'll have to tear into it and get it squared away....I just don't like the funky toggle switch, although it works for now.
