oNE DAY THEY WORKED..THEN THEY STOPPED. tHE PARKING LIGHTS NOR THE INTERIOR PANEL GUAGE LIGHTS WORK. YET THE HEAD LIGHTS FUNCTION. (H/L) THE FLASHERS/TURN SIGNAL OPERATE. tHE BRAKE LIGHTS WORK. pULL THE H/L SWITCH TO THE FIRST POSITION..NOTHING HAPPENS, PULL ALL THE WAY OU AND THE H/L FUNCTION. AT NEITHER POSITION CAN I GET THE PANEL GAUGE LIGHTS OR THE PARKING LIGHTS TO LITE. :clonk:

 CHECKED THE FUSE PANEL, BUT UNSURE (CAN NOT READ) FUZE LOCATION. h/L SWITCH IS HOT ON SECOND POSITION. NO DRAIN LOCATED.

A BETTER IDEA AT THIS POINT WOULD BE HELPFUL. :beers:

Mike please turn off the CAPS lock so us older folks can read your typing easier. All caps makes is hard to flow with the eye and is considered 'shouting' in threads. :) glad you found the error whatever it is :)

Make sure the dimmer isn't turned way down for the dash lights. If it's OK then the dash lights are fed off the headlight switch in the park and headlight positions (ie the fuse in the panel is between the headlight switch and the dash lights). The dash light fuse is the small one at the bottom left corner of the fuse block. Think its a 2A fuse. Check for power at the fuse terminals with the headlight switch off and then on, see if you get 12V in either position.

Do the rear parking lamps work? If it was just the front I'd suspect the two parking lamp connectors outboard of the battery and up behind the drivers side headlight sometimes they get corroded and don't pass power to the front parking lamps ( I spent a day figuring that out last winter). If neither front or back work, I'd say its probably the headlight switch. Before you buy a new one you can take it apart and clean it, just make sure you remember how it goes back together.

Jim...Soory for the yelling in CAPS....

Mark...Thanks for the location of the fuse. As the identification is faded...it was the one that I had no power w/with out switch pulled. Neither the front, nor the rear, or side marker, or interior guage light where working. Anther thing I thought ..can the fault of a single bulb location cause the entire system to not make circuit..??

most of the time it is a ground problem try grounding your light right at the bulb and see what happens

I just fixed my parking lamps, problem was on the pass. side connection behind the headlight you will see it follow the wires up from the parking lamp, connection was just dirty.
symptoms were:no parking lamps, left turn sig. indicator on all the time, chased it down by shaking the connections and found it 2 hours later.
remedy: cleaned connections, changed bulbs just to be safe.
yours kinda sounds like just a bad headlight switch?

I would imagine that is a loose ground somewhere. Headlights are grounded (as well as dash lamps) right to the body of the vehicle.
