JimM Jun 1st, 05, 09:02 PM Been working on her too hard to put much up, but here's a couple of shots I took today. All of the paint is done now, just have some sanding and buffing and assembling left. Hoping for 3 weeks.

The fender is right from the gun. The back of the car has been sanded with 2000, buffed with perfecit3 on wool, then buffed again with 3m glaze on a yellow foam pad.

Here's the quarter up close. Not bad for a beginner, if I dare to say so myself.
JHunter Jun 1st, 05, 09:30 PM Jim, That car is looking absolutely great. Im really impressed by all you've done. Its amazing to me how many "novices" out there are turning out some great work (by the way, dont mean to offend by calling you a novice lol, Im a novice apprentice lol)
Keep up the great work and keep posting pics, it motivates me.
MytMini Jun 1st, 05, 09:43 PM Wow Jim That looks awesome!
camaroman7d Jun 1st, 05, 10:20 PM I was wondering where you have been. Looks real good. Seems you have that cutting (color sanding) and buffing down to a science.
Everett#2390 Jun 2nd, 05, 04:59 AM She's looking good!!!
67 Convertible Jun 2nd, 05, 05:22 AM JimM...Looks absolutely great! We basically have the same car only mines a '67...can I bring it by so you can start painting it?? lol I just finished putting in a cam, performer intake and carb etc. Got it running real good. Now looking to put on headers and new exhaust and got a question about your exhaust...love the tailpipes! I have the stock turndowns behind the tires with transverse muffler, but would like true duals with polished tips straight out the rear. Not trying to jump on your post, but as long as you're here, what did you use for headers and exhaust? For headers I was thinking of coated Hedman Elites(summit part # HED-68278) mainly because of price ($265) but not sure what exhaust would meet my criteria.....Yours looks great!!

absolutely positively no offense taken. while i've been a 'gearhead' since before i had hair anyplace but on my head, it's been twenty years since i did anything serious with a car, and back then i did not have the coin to do it right. i've bitten off a lot this season, but thanks to my wifes endless patience and a lotta help and encouragement from you guys, she's coming together really nice.

the headers are hooker comps 1 5/8 - ceramic coated and they fit good and still look like new after 5 years. the exhaust system is flowmaster's american thunder, part number 17139, listed for a 69. the tailpipes are availabl;e separately, get the part number from flow's site, and summit will get them for you. the tailpipes are made for dual mufflers, not transverse.
the delta 40's are a little loud, and it's hard to impossible to get the mainpipes and crossover in without shimming the floor brace.
67 Convertible Jun 2nd, 05, 07:35 AM Thanks Jim
