I am replacing my ignition switch on my '67, but the one from year one I bought has 7 prongs (electrical connections) and the one that came out has five. They are also in different patterns. Anyone have any ideas?? thanks

In 1968 GM came out with the key warning buzzer system. It required two extra terminals on the ignition switch. I believe that you have a 1968 switch instead of a 1967. It was a one year switch since in 1969 the lock cylinder was placed in the steering column head and the ignition switch was down under the dash on top of the steering column jacket.
If there are any numbers or letters on the back of your old and new switches, the letters and terminals should be common between switches.
