What jets are you guys running with a 1050 dominator. I took out the 88 jets and put in a set of 84 Jets. I am wondering if I made a mistake.
I did this because my 780 vac sec carb on my 454 chevelle has 76-82 jets and it likes those.
I thought there is no way I need 88 jets and a 5.5 PV was I wrong??
Thanks

Which list number is your Dominator?
With 88's stock, I assume it has no power valves.
Holley got the jets dang close as delivered. Carbs are jetted according to the carb size, not the engine size.

The list is 8896-2 on an edelbrock singleplane manifold. The carb was shipped with 88 jets and the power valve. ... Should I return it to original???

Yes,
I'd start with the factory baseline, and tweak from there.

Well I put the 88s in an it was horrible. I could not get it out of the 12s from a previous best of 11.87. All the incrementals were down as well. I put the 84s back in. I will see what it does next Tuesday. Keep ya'll posted. Any comments welcome.

Typically when comparing a larger carb to a smaller one, the larger will almost always need larger jets due to the decreased air velocity.
