Car runs awesome from idle to full throttle when it is cool out as soon as it gets hot outside(above 20 Celcius) it starts to ack like it is starving itself of fuel. The hotter it gets the worse it gets. The filter is new today and the Holley black is new also. It has always done this even with the old fuel pump. The fuel line is about 6-8 inches away from the headers and feels warm but not too bad.

I'm looking for as many responses as I can get because I have stock car races I'm leaving for in a minute so when I get home I'm going to read all your suggestions on what could be wrong and fix it (but I won't be home till about 11:00 and I head out to the race track between 8-9 am tommorrow morning). I have a wrap that I'm going to put around the fuel line but other than that I'm out of Ideas right now.

Sorry for being in a panic about figuring this out but there are alot of guys around here gunning for me LOL

Thanks Dino

A spacer between the carb and intake that insulates the carb from the intake?

I had a similar problem and the spacer I used solved the problem.

Came home tonight after the stock car races (midnight) and took the car for a boot, the outside temp is 14 celcius. I didn't touch a thing and the car ran great. I'm figuring either fuel boiling when it gets hot or it was simple jetted to fat, so I wrapped the fuel line with an insulation jacket and jetted it down a couple sizes. I hope it works I'll let you know tomorrow.

Thanks

CFunk Thanks for the tip, I have a spacer but it is aluminum so I see if I can find a different one tomorrow.

Thanks

I'd have to agree that the carb might have been rich. If it runs good cold and noses over when hot it might be fat.

I'd also test your fuel pressure at WOT when its hot -- you could be seeing early signs of a fuel pump going out.
