I wouldnt trade anything in the world when my kids help me on my 69, BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I sanded and preped my dash getting ready to paint and took a break and went to town came back and decided to paint. The dash has a new texture now. Standing in disbelief ,While the dash is going into Fish Eye Coma. My 7 yr old little girl walks in to the garage and says Daddy could you tell i helped clean your dash.Asked with what? A cleaning rag that mommy uses to clean with. I took a deep breath and bent down gave her a hug and said, Yes i could tell,Thank you. Your welcome daddy!

That gave me a little lump in my throat. Good job on keeping your cool and showing her how much you love her.

my girls are too old to hang around and help, 18 and 20 chasing around with friends and work etc... wish they would mess up a 'little' near my car :)

My 3-1/2 year old boy always wants to help me work on My 67. I just bought hime some foam type tools (hammer, srewdriver, wrench and saw) and direct him on what to do, Its great, he doest screw anything up (anymore) and fastorange is right, the memories and stories you will have are priceless... like the time I was working on the engine and Jared blew the horn, it startled me so much i conked my head on the hood latch...wasn't funny right then (stitches), but it sure is now.

Got to give her an A for the effort! My son came around the trailer once and ran his bike into my body work of my race car..all freshly painted...he went head over heals ! I cringed , made sure he was OK , then off he went again. My buddies and I just laughed..after all it was race car..it was going to get beat up anyway .

Of course there are those moments when they do something that just melts you...like the time about ten years ago when he came up to me at the track after a long practice session and said in his very young voice.." you where movin Daddy.... how about a Coke ? Someone was standing there and snapped the photo :)
