I'm looking to buy a manual steering box off a person in the classifieds to replace my power unit in my 67. The 69 box is from a 6 cyl. Will this fit in my big block 67 with no issues? It even comes with the pitman arm, cool. Thanks

Rick's 1st gen catalog makes no difference between 67-69 or engine size or ratios on the manual box. Try www.partsamerica.com with both years and see if it brings up the same part #.

Or wait for someone to post who really knows. lol

I dont think it is an issue with engine size and I can tell you first hand that a 69 box WILL fit in a 67 as I replaced mine a month or two ago. I didn't have to deal with this as the box I replaced was not the original one either but I think sometime betwwen 67 and 69 they changed the way the rag joint attaches to the steering gear. If I remember correctly, the old style had a flat spot on the gear and rag joint, while the later ones were fully serrated. I could have this backwards, but it really isn't a big deal, just see what kind is on the 69 gear you are going to install and make sure you have the right kind of rag joint to mate to it.

If you can, use the pitman arm from your old steering box as the 67's are different from 69's (I think the 67's are longer). Check David Pozzi's web site as he has some good info on this.

Hope this helps.

No problem, just get a rag joint for a manual box, it has a smaller shaft.
I think I have the part number on my web page below.
