I spent tonight trying to remove my ignition swith in my 69 Camaro. In the past with most ignitions you simply find a hole and stick a piece of wire in it and the switch will pop out. Well there is no hole in the old switch or new switch. I removed the steering wheel and turn signal assembly and still don't see anything to release the switch. I'm stumped now???

The following links to a disassembly and repair paper for your steering column should be a big help. The picture on the last page shows exactly where you need to press in the housing to get the lock cylinder to release. You didn't mention if you had a standard (non-adjustable) steering column or a tilt column. The repair procedures are slightly different. The lock cylinders are the same regardless of steering column type.

If you need further help, just post again.

also, when you said switch, you meant lock, right? The ignition lock on a 69 moves a linkage in the steering column. The actual "switch" is attached to the top of the column under the dash.
