I was woundering if anyone has installed a turbonator to their car its like an ad in most car mags saying supercharge any car for 69.99 you put it in your intake.. I want to know if it sounds like its worth the money and if anyone has one

I figure it will make my car run faster b/c it will weight less by about $70 or so with my billfold in my pocket is all!!

Someone around here pointed out an ebay add a year or so ago. Someone was selling a blower fan for the engine compartment of a boat and calling it a turbo charger. It even had a power increase guarantee. No, I doubt very much that ading turbulence to the air charge will increase horse power by 35. If 35 horse power were that easy to come by, all the auto manufacturers would already be doing it. 35 lbs of horse dooky is more like it.

Does anyone go to the race all night drags at the Cedar Falls Raceway in Iowa? They will know what I mean. I sat down to watch some races, and a rice boy ruined my fun. He bragged to some clueless girl about his Honda CSwhatever and how it could take any of the cars at the strip.
I am really good about never losing my cool. That is until we saw a Japanese car beat a very nice looking, but very not fast 51' choptop Merc cruiser .
Both cars didn't break past 16 seconds.

Every sticker is worth 10 horsepower. Turbos belong on cars that pull the wheels through the 60' beams. Rice is for eating, not driving.

i have a car with a turbo- but it's a Buick. an 84, to be exact. and it was faster than every import at the track 2 fridays ago. but it doesn't pull the wheels, so maybe i should ditch the turbo 'cuz it aint doing nothing.
and back in my youth- in my 78 Cordoba with a 360 4 barrel- i did plenty of tranny drops that helped me turn plenty of perfectly good tires into even more perfect black stripes in front of my house. truly a gearhead rite of passage...

I am assuming that this "turbonator" is one of those vane thingys that bolts on over the top of you carb/throttle body? I remember reading a while back that they really screw up a carbs cailibration from the turbulence they create.

Travis, if this is the product I am thinking of it's basically a PC cooling fan that you put on the inlet to the the air box. They can be found on e-bay if you do a search on "turbo". Why anyone would fall for this is beyond me. I know the product you are talking about as well another gimmick. I forgot the name of those, OH maye it was Tornado or something like that.
