Anyone out there have any wiring knowledge of the center console of a 67 Camaro RS without center console gauges? I'm trying to connect the little lights that illuminate the gearshift and that little light on the back of the console. Somebody cut off the black wire for the gearshift lights (The grey wire is still intact) and cut off both wires for the rear console light. All the wires were cut after the underdash connection where the console wires plug into it. (Meaning the console harness is intact, but between the dash and the connector is where the cuts were made.) There is also an orange wire that was taped up with the wire bundle going from under the dash to the connector which I think is supposed to be for the gauge option. Does anyone know where these wires connect up?

Gray wire is for dash lights, so this one would go to the gear indicator. Black is ground. Orange wire is for accessory power, ie, instrument panel compartment light, heater resistor power (blower speed), etc.

The rear console light is a courtesy light and comes on with the interior (dome) light(s), kick panel and rear sail panel, if equipped.

So should I just splice the rear console wires onto the wires for the courtesy lights? I assume I can hook the ground up anywhere for that gearshift light.

I would think so. I would od one circuit at a time. The opposite wire for the gearshift light I'd see if the volts would be available with parking lamps on before hooking up the ground wire.
