Hi guys!
Heres the background.
I have an 87' camero 305 w/quadrajet that I bought used from a dealership in 92'.
A friend drove it for a while until I drove it to Colorado and bought a new GMC truck. I left it sitting in a barn until last summer when I towed it back to Las Vegas.
I don't know what the previous owner might have done to the car if anything.

Problem:
Car drives fine but when I try to open it up, it accelerates slowly like it may want more gas.
I have replaced the filter, pump and vacuum lines.
I hooked up my timing light, but no mark appeared while engine running.
I checked my Chilton book to see if I had to do anything else. It said to disconnect the 4 wire connector at the distributer. I did this but the engine would not run with it disconnected.
Please help. Very frustrating.
Thank you.

It's computer controlled ignition. Check for codes on the computer. also check out www.thirdgen.org (http://www.thirdgen.org)

Just FYI 305's won't give you the performance your probly expecting. Maybe clean the injectors or try some injector cleaner that you put in the gas tank.

I went to a high volume fuel pump, did wonders for my 350!!

Unplugging the 4 wire connector takes the supply voltage away from the coil. That is why it will not run. Try starting with a good tune up, plugs, wires, new rotor and cap.
