rolling-robert Dec 30th, 03, 09:44 AM After placing an order on summitracing.com, i sent like 6 emails and checked my orderstatus every day.
no respond! the link to my orderstatus is dead too!
What the heck happened over there?
It doesnt have to do anything with that earthquake, does it?
DjD Dec 30th, 03, 10:12 AM What Summit shop is your stuff coming from? Only the Iranian outlet was effected by the earthquake! ;) My guess is it's still Holiday Season until everyone sobers up and goes back to work on Jan 5th. Everything is slow this time of year, have you called their 800 number?
rolling-robert Dec 30th, 03, 10:25 AM no, im not that kind of a hero to talk on phone with my dutch accent. ;)
ill just wait untill the 5th.
Just need that new carburetor, to test my new engine
rolling-robert Dec 30th, 03, 10:29 AM .
bretcopsey Dec 30th, 03, 10:30 AM Robert,
Perhaps you could ask one of the members here to call for you? They'll probably need an order number.

DjD Dec 30th, 03, 10:59 AM Hey Robert,
I hate to be too picky but your signature is a bit harsh and can be taken as vendor bashing. IMO there is nothing wrong with your Carb other than you haven't taken the time to get to know it. I base that on your many recent postings. Did you ever take the time to make sure it was set to factory spec's? If you want to give it away, let me know what the postage to California is and I might take it off your hands.. ;)
Rsmith1969 Dec 30th, 03, 01:21 PM I just recieved a Summit Order today. I sent the order a week before X-mas, seems they are Backed up some.
On that Holley Problem do as Dennis suggests set it to Factory Specs and Tune from there, I bought a 650 DBL pumper and just Bolted it on did some tuning with a Handheld Vac Guage Never skipped a Beat so far in a year, whereas I was Tuning a Road Demon every couple Months prior to that. Make sure the Carb is Tight on the Intake and Make sure no Vac Leaks and the Holley should Tune in Fine for ya.
Richz68 Dec 30th, 03, 04:56 PM Rolling...,
I talked to my friend who works for Summit and he said that they are right on schedule and have been all year. The reason he thinks your order may have not been shipped yet is because it is being shipped overseas which takes much more time to prepare for shipment than domestic orders.
DJD,
Suumit does NOT throw any type of "drunk-fest" Christmas parties. Their Christmas part is dry I guess. He said that they only get 4 days a year off.... July 4th, Thanksgiving, X-Mas, New Years Day other than that they are there 24-7 all year long.....
I would suggest emailing them with the order number or your customer number to see if they can let you know the progress.
DjD Dec 30th, 03, 05:14 PM Rich I wasn't infering Summit had anything to do with drinking... It's New Years and about half the world will be drinking too much tomorrow night... Everyone will be sobered up and over the hangovers and back to work on Mon the 5th...
The holiday season is always a bad time to ship things... Things start getting back to normal next week...
Rsmith1969 Dec 30th, 03, 06:24 PM well let your Friend Know that 2 weeks seems right on time to me ( thats an order within the Continental US ) I think NOT, the person i spoke to on the phone told me they were behind due to x-mas orders, so Your friend that works there is wrong.
rolling-robert Dec 30th, 03, 07:38 PM Well, i sent like 5 emails, but no response so far, (started 4 days ago)
If someone would like to call for me,that would be great.
And ill checkout that holley carb again tomorrow.
Sorry for being a bit insulting these days, but i got scr*wed by my boss, (happy x-mas!)
Thanks for helping me guys.

Richz68 Dec 31st, 03, 04:11 AM rolling-robert,
Without giving too much information.... My buddy found your email in which you indicated yourself that there may be a problem with the order just a few hours after it was placed. He said that it is indeed the delay and it is not on their end. They have been waiting for a reply since 12-26.
Rsmith1969,
If you sent a MAIL ORDER in a few weeks before Christmas..... well is that Summits fault as well. Think about it..... MAIL ORDER in the year 2003, & especially right before Christmas?
rolling-robert Dec 31st, 03, 04:47 AM i sent like 4 mails after that. ill send another one with a different emailadress.
maybe that hotmail isnt working lately.
thanks for calling btw graemlins/thumbsup.gif
rolling-robert Dec 31st, 03, 05:04 AM just got an email from some guy named JIM from summitracing, they received my mail and itwill be send ! graemlins/thumbsup.gif
camaroman7d Dec 31st, 03, 06:25 AM I have been placing a LOT of Summit orders the last month or so and everything has been right on time no delays. I always get my order the next day as long as I place it before 3PM (if it comes out of the Sparks/Reno warehouse), usually takes 3-5 days if it is coming from Ohio.
