Hello, i'm in need of some help. I recently replaced some old exisiting gauges in my car with a newer model. Both are mechanical gauges so no real work involved. I made sure to disconnect the battery before any wrenches were turned. Any way now that i've swapped them out no power is going to the fuse block. All the gauges are properly grouned and the power wire for the bulbs are connected to fuse block via the instr. spare (not the actual fuse). I'm not very experienced as this is my first project So any guidance would be greatly appreciated. What i thought would be an easy swap has turned into a heartache, as summer is here and she sits quietly in the garage.

Have you checked to see if the Inst Spare is hot? If not, use a fuse tap on one of the circuits that is hot, and get that car on the road!

Thats the thing nothing on the fuse block has power. I traced where the wire on the "s" terminal of the starter sol. went to the back of the fuse block, used a test lamp to find out which was the hot wire on the inside of the fuse block (used a jumper wire from the batt. post on the starter sol. to get power)traced that wire to the ignition switch where it was hot, but lost it in the sea of wires taped together. Now the way I understand this circuit to work is by turning the ignition switch which completes the circuit sending power through the wires i traced to the starter sol. which then engages the starter motor. So if that is right and the wires are good to the starter sol. I should try and find the wire that supplies the power to the front of the fuse panel Is that right the (italicized portion represents me thinking at my computer.) So my question now is what color wire would i be looking for because all the ones i tested none of them indicated a "hot" wire. Thanks for taking time to help me out i really appreciate it.

your fuse box power comes from the horn relay on the radiator support on drivers side. It comes across the radiator support from a junction block behind the battery on the radiator support on the passenger side, Start there and work your way across.

Thanks a lot for all your input, it turned out to be the horn relay that was bad. Thank you very much for your time and shared knowledge. Hope I can help you all one day. Thanks
