Guys, on a 69 convertible, small block, a/c, auto car there is an orange? wire that is in with the wires that go down to the starter motor. This wire is cut right below the upper stud for the evap suitcase. The other 2 wires go directly to the starter. What is the "cut" wire for? Thanks.

The orange wire goes to the blower... at least it does on a non a/c car.

Not sure on AC car, that cut might be stock and replaced by a wire in the a/c harness.

Factory was supposed to cut the orange wire to the non A/C blower motor near the wire gutter above the distributor tape it up and tuck it into the wiring gutter on A/C cars. Engine side wiring harness is the same in both A/C and non A/C cars but the orange wire isn't used when A/C was installed.
