ok when i shut off motor and go quikly into acc position the motor still runs?
if I go from run to off all works good
if i go from run to acc (engine runs) then to off motor turns off.

almost sounds like your coil(or msd box if you have one) is connected to acc instaead of ign.

MSD TECH support sez:

Try installing the supplied diode in-line on the #4 terminal on the voltage regulator. You can find this in the parts bag for the 6A ignition. If you have switched over to a one wire alternator, install the diode on the main field wire. The unit is seing residual voltage from the charging system when the key is turned off. For more information on the install, check out pages 8 and 9 of the instruction manual.
funny thing is i took my car into a well know shop that does excellent work on race cars and muscle cars and he switched the wires cuz he said the ign was running off the acc?
