After searching and coming up empty, I'm looking for help with my drain plug. Its a stock SBC pan on my 383 with a new drain plug (magnetic type) and gasket. It's tight but leaks enough to leave a fair size puddle. I re tightened it a few times already- but nothing works. Its a new build, and I re tightened the oil pan bolts, etc. too. any ideas??? Should I try a little silicone? Thank...

If your sure its coming from the drain plug, are the threads stripped out at all? Ive never used one, but they make a special plug bolt with abouta 1/4 inch rubber washer that should fix you problem.

If its leaking from the plug, are you using the teflon gasket? Had lots trouble with that ,,, Get the 12mm metal gasket with o ring seal in middle, if its not stripped,,Autozone , they make both 12mm or 14mm, depends on the bolt if you have a good flat wide shoulder.
