I have to install my satin finish header moldings. I know they are a pain and It has been awhile since I had the other peeling chrome ones on. Can anyone give me some advise on installation? Also, can some one post some pics looking from inside with the door open. I cant seem to see how the end pieces go. I need my memory jarred.
Thank You,
John

Kevin,
Thank you for the photos. Just what I needed. Did you remove and install those moldings and if so, what are the tricks. Thanks again for the photos. AWESOME CAR !!! I have a 68 coupe as well that is all original. Butternut yellow as well. 327 factory AC, console shift with powerglide. I bought it from the original owners family. Nver been touched. Originalm interior, just a few parking lot dings. Hope to get to it here in the next year. Family first, cars second.

Hi John,
Thanks for the compliment.
The header moldings were one of the few parts I never removed. They were in pretty good shape and didn't need to come out. I did have the windshield moldings off and replaced the pillar weatherstrip. It was a long time ago, so I don't remember if it was unusually difficult. Most things did prove more difficult than I expected, so it probably just required a lot of tweaking and persuasion. Nothing ever seems to go on the same way it came off.
Good luck getting it back together and let us know the result in case any of us ever have to replace them.
Can't wait to see some pics of the Butternut Yellow coupe. You don't see many around anymore. They've all seemed to have turned red...
