Does anyone have experience with the Hedman 68608 shorty style headers? I am looking to swap out the nasty, rusted Dynomax headers.

The thing I don't like about the Dynomax headers is they hang below the subframe but they do clear the steering box by 3/4 of an inch.

Look into the Patriot (#8012) or (8012-1 for ceramic). They fit up close to the frame.

I've got a set of them on a 540 in a 69 Camaro they are tight but they work fine, yes they are tight on the steering box side. You'll have to set them in place with the motor up off the perches. I found it much easier to install them with the trans mount attached and the motor up off the pearches this will allow you to swing the motor side to side to gain clearnace to get them in place before you drop the motor on the perches. Hope this helps. Point to remember you must have big block perches and a big block trans cross member to have the proper set on the motor and trans to give the proper clearance.
