I bought an intermediate parking brake cable from D&R (they show only 1 size) last year and just had a chance now to install. It's about 3" shorter than the stock cable that was on my car. Needless to say, it doesn't fit. But, I compared the new cable to some other stock camaro cables (probably non verts) and they are the same length. Is there any reason that my stock cable would be longer?

Sixty-seven is one length, 68-69 are another length.

I called D&R and they said that all intermediate cables are the same length for '67 to '69.
Firewheel shows the same thing on their catalog.
Rick's first gen shows:
PB-7 67 Park Brake Center Cable (82")
Use with original only rear cables on a factory big block Camaro. Original GM.
PB-8 67-69 Park Brake Center Cable (79")
Original GM.
Interesting. I will have to call Rick's tomorrow.

I ran into the same problem on my car. I work for a Chevrolet dealer so I had them check the part number and it was what was listed for my car but it was to short. I had them get me one for I think a 67 with a 396 and it fit OK. If you want I will see if I can get you the GM part number it is still available. I suspect that the convertible had a longer cable due to the extra braceing in the floor and somewere along the line the parts books got messed up. I just read the previous post that 82 inch cable is the one I am talking about.

The GM part # for the 82 inch cable is 1374758. Any GM dealer should be able to order this for you.
