I was talking to my buddy, and asked me if I was going to the Good Guys this year. I said yeah, I do every year. He said no, are you taking your car this year? It used to be only to 1964 cars. It is extended this year to 1972. That is great news for us muscle cars owners! I know in some areas they already went up to this year, but in the Des Moines area, the cutoff was 64. I am sure glad that we are not left out this time. If I got my car done in time, I was going to go out to Columbus, OH. Don't need to now! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

The Goodguys event here in Colorado has always been cars up to 72. I've attended all of the events here since the inaugural one in 1998, it's nice because it's just down the road from where I live at Pikes Peak International Raceway.

It's great to take a few laps on the track Saturday evening, and unlike many shows where you just sit there, we cruise the grounds for hours!

We get around 1900 cars.

When is it, Don, do you know? Maybe I'll come up.

I've been going to Columbus since 1999, it gets bigger and better every year. This is a huge show and is worth going to if you love rods and customs with muscle mixed in.

Guys we have 4 GG shows a year here and only one is pre 50's (not sure exact years) so we have 3 to go to, some have been taking place for over 20 years. Big is good to an extent but there will come a time when it gets too big. I planned on showing 2 times last year, the first show I made and got to the show grounds at 7:00 am and didn't get in until 10:00, then it took until 11:30 to find a place to display the car. That's 4 1/2 hrs of idling around in lines... It's a 2 day show and I didn't go back... The second time last year I was going to show the GG staff several weeks before the show didn't want anything to do with helping me with registration or even taking my membership renewal... I wrote a polite letter that never got a reply! I'll go as a spectator and for the swap meet but unless a bunch of TC members are planning to show together or our local club (not likely, most of them have been fed up for a couple years) displays as a group my car won't be there...

The sad thing was it was a great event until it got too large for the folks managing it to handle...

Enjoy the growth while you can, the GG's has a great event if they can keep it under control..

When is the 04 show in Columbus Ohio? Is that closest to southwestern Michigan?

Yes, you do have to get in line early to get a good spot. We party to 1 a.m. and get up at 5 a.m. to get in line. I love it though :D . To me, if you don't get a good spot, you might as well stay at home.

Yep, :D . But getting a good spot there is a breeze compared to Columbus. It's dog eat dog there. You should go this year.

I might. How far of a drive is it for you? I would need to add 3 hours to your drive time. I may do that or possibly a Super Chevy show instead.

Well it's about 7 hours for me. IMO, it's 100 times better then Super Chevy. The best of the best is there, tons of vendors, etc.

I've been to SuperChevy Indy before. I guess it's just more what you're into. To me, if I've seen one numbers match original Camaro, Chevelle, etc. I've seen them all, they just don't turn me on.
