View Full Version : touring classics kit vs all the rest

I am at a dilemma. I have researched thoroughly the info on this site and many others. I now must decide between the C5 hybrid kit offered by touring calssics and the rightstuff.com kit. I would really like the look of the C5 brakes, but I am concerned the other kit is more complete. I have drums right now in front, and will keep the drums in back. I also really like the video instructions included with right stuff kit. I have some experience with brake stuff, but not a bunch. I have also seen the tech article on this site about how easy the C5 kit is to install.

To the guys that have used it, what are the "hidden" costs in moving from manual drums to power discs with the C5 kit? I think the other kit will not have any "hidden" costs. Correct me if I am wrong.

My car is a 68 Camaro, but I plan to run 1992 16 inch Z28 wheels. I got a good deal on these wheels, and I like them anyway. I have tried the template available on the touring classics site, but it is not to scale. I have tried several ways to print it.

Thanks
Brad

have you looked @ wilwood, baer, or ssbc?

not trying to make your decision more complicated.

cool thing w/ touring classics is you can get off the shelf replacement parts.

i'm still debating between wilwood & touring classics for my 68.

you can get 4piston wilwood pro series on all 4 corners delivered for ~$1300.

Well the C5 kit is out. The 92 Z wheels won't fit the rotor. The CPP kit from Matt looks good as well. They will cross drill for another $50. That might be the route I take.

Hi,

Where is this? I also have a 68 and am looking at my options.

Thanks, Josh
