I have a 68 camero RS convertible. The top won't close. When the switch is activated you can hear the motor run, then it quits. How does the motor operate? Air or hydrolic oil? Can anyone tell me how to repair this? I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks. Jlucy

Runs ATF for the rams. There are many posts on the bleeding procedure. You have to take the rear seat out.

if it runs and then quits then it might be that it is tripping the circuit breaker. how long does it run? probably low on oil also. i recently learned a lot about mine. i rebuilt the entire system including the motor and pump.

If you have a 67,68 or 69 Camaro convertible, you should invest in 3 books. Number one, right now for your situation is: "Body by Fisher" service manual for 1968. This book has just about everything you might want to know about a convertible, even including how to rebuild the power motor if need be.
Also get "Chassis Service Manual" for 1968, especially if you have an original numbers matching car. Last but not least: Get the "Camaro Assembly Manual." This book is like having "model airplane instructions" for you entire car!! :)
