I'm going to go look at a 1970 Camaro this week and need some pointers on what to look for. I gave it a quick glance over and saw that it had Z/28 badges fron and rear, small spoiler, 10 bolt rear, and a cloumn shift for the auto. The owner of the shop where it's at says it's a Z car, but I didn't think they came with column shift or 10 bolts. What number should I be seeing on the cowl or vin to know what it is.
Thanks in advance.

Nik..If it a Norwood car, there should be Z28 stamped in the trim tag. Cal cars do not have this. It should have a 12 bolt. The gas pedal should be floor mounted. If it is not, chances are good it is not a real Z28. More info at www.nastyz28.com. Good luck.

12 Bolt was mandatory...

First go here - http://www.nastyz28.com/camaro/camaro70.html - and read through everything.

1970 and up Camaro Cowl Tags are 'Open Coded' - so it will read "Z28" in the option line... ;)

Hope this helps;
John

Thanks for the info and links. I'm going to take my camera with me and get a better look at it. If I can post the pics here, I'll put them up for you guys to take a look at.
