Hi,

I've got a slightly bent front sub frame on my 68 camaro which I need to get aligned. I have a good chassis guy who says he can get it right if I can get some sort of diagram or manual article containing the correct measurements for the Sub frame. Does anyone have or know how I could get hold of these details.

Thanks in advance.

The dimensions are in the factory assy manual, or seach in "body" for "subframe alignment" or "subframe bushings", the page has been scanned and posted.

It is in the Chassis Service Manual.
I have a Firebird version posted on my web page here:

here's the scan I was remembering:

Looks about the same as David's, hopefully one of them will print well enough to read!

This has a lot more detail. This is from the 1969 Chassis Service Manual. Dimensions are identical for 67-69 Camaro.
The Fisher Body Manual has specs on the entire chassis with detailed dimensions also.
(Sorry the file is so big, but at least the resolution is good).

Print it to view it better.

By the way, R Kent & sons are good with chassis straightening. They are local to you (and me).
They are in Clayton (03) 9544 7326

I like that web page steve! Thanks for the info. I've found a guy in Croydon "Chassis-Tech"

Would love to see what you are working on. It's rare to find a fellow Camaro lover in AU. Did you get to the 1960's muscle Car club meet last year?

Yes I did but my car didn't!
How about you?
It was a good turn-out and I think we did better than GM Day as far as muscle cars went. Who can complain about a $2 entry fee for spectators?
Look out, it's going up to $3 this year!! -Talk about inflation.. hehe.

Do you have the rest of the measurements posted??? If you don't mind I'd like to post them on my site.... I have found a couple of error (Checked a 3 cars) for other Team Camaro members. If thats cool pls e-mail them to me

Gene, I don't have them "on line" but I will scan if you really really need me too.
Checkout your Fisher Body Manual if you have one (you should!), section 3-8 & 9. All the measurements are there for the subframe, body mounts and rear rails and in relation to each other. (The subframe measurements aren't as detailed in this manual as they are in the Service manual, which is what I posted before.)

Hey Roger. We have the 60's American Muscle Car Club Show at "The Manhatten Hotel" (cnr Canterbury & Heatherdale Roads). Not sure of exact date yet but it will be the same weekend in November as last year. (I still think GM Day conflicts with us (-no idea why they moved their show to "our" weekend)) Could be Sunday 13th.??
Anyway, it will cost you between $5 & $10 to enter your car, or it's free if you join up (again!).
We had over 1000 people through the gate last year and I think 200-ish cars.
Will you have yours ready by then?

G'Day Steve,

Yeah I made it last year. I also went to the GM day in Yarra Glen & the Air show. Was the best day I've had for ages. (The missus clocked up some serious Brownie points that day). The gig at the Manhattan was my favorite. There were heaps of "My kind of Car". I'd need a few trailers to get my car there this year. Maybe next year.

Was your 68 there?
Here are a few pics of the '04 show. These pics were taken early then I had to leave and come back so I did see all that were there.
Woops, pics are a bit big.. sorry.

I have the 67 version its not as detailed.....
I have all kinds of space on my web site, to host info for Team Camaro references.

No my 68 has been off the road since the early 80's! I've got some pics I can post of some of the cars that were there that day, if people are interested Some really nice cars were there.

Not sure how to post though??

www.imageshack.ws is a good host site. No fees and they provide urls to copy and paste.
Make sure your pics are 100kb or less so they fit the screen and the guys on dial up don't have to wait all night to up-load!

So Gene, do you need a scan?
