I have a 94 Z-28 and the radiator low light is on even though the cooling system seems to be working fine it dosent overheat. Any ideas on whats going on?

pretty sure those lights are lit by a sensor in the overflow tank. Have you actually checked the coolant level?

JimM- The radiator is full with dex-cool the redish colored stuff, and the dipstick reads fairly normal in the hot or cold state, maybe sensor needs replacing? Thanks Lytemup

The radiator may be full, but I'm pretty sure the sensor is in the expansion tank.

The low coolant sensor on my 97 Formula is located on the radiator near the battery. This sensor is prone to failure, mine did, but the coolant in the car was never low. Some people have been able to remove and clean it to get it to work again. According to the shop manuals, the battery needs to be removed to access the sensor, drain the coolant level to below the sensor, remove and clean/replace. I did not change mine personally, I have an extended warrranty that covered it while other work was completed, but others in our club have changed it and said it was relatively easy

I had a 93 Z28. You might find you have air in the system. They are a beeatch to bleed sometimes. Could be the sensor like a few have mentioned though.
