when I took out the back inside panel of my 67 rs convertible, I found a kink in the line about 2 inches from the bottom of the hydraulic piston. I straightened the line out, but the line still kinks when I put the top down and slows the one side down so the top does not go down evenly. It kinks because of the piston casing moving as the top goes down. Is there some way to attach the line so it won't kink yet still allow movement, or make some kind of a strain relief device I could slip around the line?

once kinked it is weak in that area. try turning it in a different direction. if you can get a piece of tubing over the kinked area it might help. kind of expensive to replace but it might be the only way.

Once the hose is kinked, it is the weakest point and will kink again. The only solution is to cut it back if there is room and reattach it or if the hose overall is scraped up and showing wear, replace it.

Help, I am restoring a 69 RS Convert, I have a new convert motor, and I am installing the hydraulic lines. I have all the books, but no one can tell me where the lines go. When I hook up the bottom hydraulic line where does it go, to the bottom of the other one. Same as the top line. Where does it connect to the motor. All the books indicate to remove and install the same, the car I have all the lines were dry rotten, and I have no idea how to install it. Please help...........

assuming that a 67 is the same as a 69, your motor has two ports on it, one is for the up one is for down. connect the line to the front port of
the motor and connect the ones that split to bottom of both cylinders. connect the line to the rear port of the motor and connect the ones that split to the top of both cylinders. hope that helps.

Thanks, that did it. Now I have another problem. The top opens, but is not closing. Any ideas... It's like it does not have enough power to close. Where should I start.

check to see that it is not binding. also check the fluid level.
