Welcome to the best Camaro site on the net. The "X" codes were only on Norwood cars and only after Nov or Dec of '68. Check this site for great information: [http://www.camaros.org]

Hey Mark,
12437 is 1=GM, 2=Chevrolet, 4=V8, 3=coupe, 7=2-door.
LOS103751 means it's a Van Nuys, Los Angeles built car (will have no X codes) and the 103751 is a sequential Fisher body build number.
713 is black houndstooth interior (nice)
72B is Hugger Orange (72) with a black vinyl roof (B)
08E is the fifth week of August 1968 build date.
H102 means that this car was the 102nd car scheduled to be built on the 8th (H) working day of August. (Is that right? The 8th working day seems a long time from the 5th week)
Your Vin shows it's the 334th Camaro built in the LA plant which is quite early. It also indicates that your car is an Aug 68 build and not an Aug 69 build too.
To tell if it's an RS SS, you're just going to have to look for "mechanical clues" and even then it's still no guarantee.
How much of the firewall is left after the conversion to RHD? There are some clues there for the RS option.
Jerry McNeish's "The Definitive 1969 Camaro Z/28-SS396 Fact book" will give a few clues on where to look for the SS option.

It is always fun on LA built cars to drop the gas tank and see if the build sheet is on top of it.. you should give it a try !

The firewall has been changed and the car is right hand drive now
what other places can i look for info to see if it is an original rs body
and did they build them in 68.
Any help would be great.
Mark.

I look and no there is no build sheet there any other clues would be great.
The main thing i want to know is if it is an true rs body.
Do all 69 camaros have the lights under the rear bar

If you're referring to the rear bumper, no. The RS had lights mounted in the lower panel, the others didn't.
