Does anyone know if an Edelbrock RPM air gap manifold on a 396 fit under a GM cowl induction hood? Right now I'm running a regular RPM manifold with a Holley 4150 and it fits. I'm not sure how much higher the air gap is though.

Baloo,
An Edlebrock RPM manifild has a front height of 4.45", back height of 6", so average at carburetor of 5.225". RPM Air Gap a front height of 4.45", back height of 6", so average at carburetor of 5.225". So, according to Edelbrock catalog, they are exactly same dimensions.

Baloo,
I have a 502 with a 950hp holley and a 1/2 spacer with an air gap. Everthing fits fine. I have 3" airfiter on a drop base. If you go with a flat base filter and a 1/2 space you will have to use a 2" filter. A 3" filter will not fit unless you use a drop base filter set up regardless of spacer size.

I am glad that there is input like this rather than the romper room of a few years ago. Good info that I can definetly use.
Thanks...
