The pink wire is the 12vdc source and goes to the switch - the green wire goes through the loom to the lights in the rear. Power is routed to the lights when the switch contacts are closed as the shifter is moved to 'reverse'. The switch is mounted on the trans for 67~68 years and on the base of the steering column on 1969's. I think I'm missing something here but, I can't think of it... Someone will chime-in and correct me ;) But, this should get you started looking for the missing part/parts... John (edit) I missed the year in post title - corrected that... :clonk: red67L78 Jul 14th, 05, 04:46 PM for manual trans. Should be a gromet on firewall near rear of driverside engine head . 2 blade connectors ,looks like a T . This is wired with a pig tail pluged into it and then goes to trans switch. When reverse is selected it closes these two wires (green) and power is sent back to your rear lights. This is how you can test it. Need key on and check at this firewall gromet that one of the wires should have 12 volts. Short to the other wire and rear lights should come on. If no 12 volts then check for fuse problem. |
